So I am supposed to get him something for Christmas?

We're friends w/benefits right now...known each other not quite two months. He isn't looking for a serious relationship right now. But he asked me what I want for Christmas and says he's getting me something. I told him not to and he said he'll surprise me. I told him that he seriously didn't need to get me anything and he said ok. But I'm not so sure he won't. Should I get him something just to be on the safe side? And if so what do I get him. He (jokingly) told me he wants a PS3, but I don't think I'm going to go that route. Lol especially since he doesn't want to be serious. But then he told me he doesn't need anything. What should I do...and do fwb usually buy each other stuff for Christmas?
