Doubling up on birth control pills?

The reason antibiotics cause breakthrough bleeding when you are on the pill is because they weaken the effectiveness of the pill. I know this because I was just on antibiotics for an ear infection. I would suggest talking to your doctor about all of this before you double it because it could be that they want you to be careful about what is in your system at the time of surgery soon. Plus doubling it just does not sound safe to me. i think that you need to see another doctor and get a second opinion. That just seems like you would be putting a lot of hormones into your body all at once. Having that many hormones in your body probably will stop the break through bleeding but that may still be a dangerous level of hormones to have in your body and it may mess up your menstrual cycle for a while too.
