Is there a way to get something you saw on TV on to your computer besides filming it?

I saw something on TV that was really funny, so I set up a tripod with a camera and went back with TiVo. I filmed it with my camera and got it onto my computer that way. People are saying on youtube that it is bad quality but funny. How do I get it on y computer without filming it?
