Can a doctor date an ex-patient in the U.K?

I have no family in the U.K. (so no chance of them becoming his patients) and I have been an ex-patient of a doctor that I like for two years. Can a doctor in the U.K. consider a relationship with me? Also, when I was a patient, I only had a few minor consultations with him. If any doctors see this...please post an answer
